  A story of brotherly love.....

  since i've been here, from around july, 2001, i haven't really shared any personal experiences of why i left the society, except for the story about my sister who committed suicide.

  this is kind of long, so i will tell it in parts.

  if this is god's organization, i will gladly be a devil worshiper.. here goes....... when i was about 27 years old, (around 1984) after my divorce, i'd moved from laurens, south carolina back to andrews, sc, and rented the house beside my grandmother.

  my wife spent all morning long preparing this super thanksgiving banquet.

  with a huge turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce.

  and greenbeen salad, pie and icecream.. yummy!.

  Just ROn went to Nashville a couple of years ago after they had major flooding. The RBC was coordinating volunteers to rebuild houses. Some of the houses he worked on, the owners had no insurance and were very low income. I don't know who paid for those materials. Locally, some dubs who had storm damage discovered that it was more expensive and more trouble to let the RBC do the repairs than to just hire a contractor.

  Black Tie etiquette.

  ok. it's 12:30 in england, i have to go to bed but i just wanted to throw this one in.. i went to a jw funeral yesterday.

  not one black tie in the whole congregation.

  no witness would dream of wearing a black tie to a funeral.

  ok lets leave the atheism, belief in god aside for a bit and remember that we all have something in common and that we are a unique group of people on this very big planet.. lets all have a giggle about our old lives,.

  what was the craziest, most laughable thing that we used to do or observed as a jw ?.

  was it just me that used to add echo in the sound booth, just for giggles?

  finally awake

  I fell down my front steps on the way to Memorial one year. I went inside, covered my wounds as best I could, changed my clothes, and still made it to the meeting on time. I was barely able to walk and I was still crying from the pain, and I was 5 months pregnant, but my butt was in that seat before the meeting started. I should have, at the very least, gone straight to the ER, but I was a colossal dumba$$
